TI Automotive Rear-View Camera Demo
Rear-view cameras are quickly becoming an integral part of driver-assistance systems. In this video, we demonstrate two DSP algorithms that help drivers interpret rear-view images: first, we remove the fish-eye lens distortions to present the driver a more natural, de-warped view behind the car. Second, we synthesize a bird’s-eye view of the scene, which improves the driver’s sense of orientation and distance to other vehicles. On a DM6437 DaVinci System-on-chip, our optimized solution requires less than 5% of the available compute power, leaving ample room for advanced safety applications to run on the same processor.
