Low EMI Isolation in Medical Applications

Medical system galvanic isolation requirements are far more stringent than in most other applications. The need for these tougher requirements is obvious: data corruption can cause malfunctions with potentially catastrophic results. For instance data corruption from electromagnetic interference can interrupt life support system operation, or alter the data of a patient being monitored, or perhaps change intravenous medicine dosage levels dispensed from an infusion pump.
